This process uses plastic sheets which are put on a frame and heated to a specific temperature. Once the material becomes pliable, it is lowered onto a mould which can be built out of aluminum or even hardwood.
The plastic is then sucked down to form a tight seal on the mould, bringing out details of its surface. The part quickly cools and is trimmed or modified as required.
This process is ideal for testing or small runs with low tooling costs.
